  1. Submission at Paul Smith Publishing is open to anyone who accepts the Terms and Conditions.
  2. All submissions can be entered at any time, or before or by a specific admission date if advertised on the site. 
  3. Free submission for all.
  4. You are eligible to enter if you are above the age of 16 years old at time of entry. If you are classified as a minor you must have the permission of your parent (of both parents where required by law) or a legal guardian to enter your work(s).
  5. The work must be in English; be of interior black and white text; without images; not being the subject of a publishing agreement with any publishing house; not include your name anywhere in the synopsis or the sample chapter(s); and meet the content guidelines. Also, you must submit your work digitally and in the specified format.
  6. By submitting a work you confirm officially that the work you entered is an original creation; it has not been copied wholly or partially from any other work; it has not been previously published by another publisher; it does not violate or infringe any copyright, trademark, privacy or publicity right, and or any other proprietary or intellectual property right of any person or entity; it is not defamatory, obscene, or in any way illegal; it is your sole and exclusive property. You also officially confirm you have complete, worldwide distribution rights in and to your Manuscript, Synopsis, Sample Chapter(s).
  7. Paul Smith Publishing will rate the manuscript on a 1 to 5 star system as follows:
Poor
Below Average
Average
Good
Very Good
  1. The 5 star rating system will be applied on the following criteria:
    1. Style of Writing
    2. Clarity of Expression
    3. Presentation (Language, Grammar, Punctuation)
    4. Originality of Idea
    5. Potential
  2. If you use the penname, name or likeness of any individual other than yourself you agree and confirm to be solely responsible for such use. You agree that Paul Smith Publishing Ltd along with any directors, agents, employees and representatives of any of them will not be responsible for any action brought by a person whose consent you did not obtain.
  3. While every effort has been made that the writer provides accurate contact details, telephone numbers and Internet addresses at the time of submission, Paul Smith Publishing does not have any control over and assumes no responsibility for changes that may occur after submission. Further, Paul Smith Publishing does not have any control and does not assume any responsibility for submissions or third-party websites or their content.
  4. Paul Smith Publishing is not responsible for: any human or other error that may occur in the processing of submissions; any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, theft or destruction, or unauthorized access to or alteration of entries; for technical, network, telephone, computer, hardware or software, malfunctions of any kind, which may occur in connection with the Paul Smit Publishing Ltd, including, without limitation, any errors or problems related to the administration or the processing of the manuscript submissions and materials. Paul Smith Publishing associated parties are also not responsible for: inaccurate transmission of, or failure to receive, any information on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website; injury or damage to you or any other computer resulting from downloading any materials in relation with Paul Smith Publishing Ltd.
  5. We reserve the right to disqualify any individual found to be tampering with the Paul Smith Publishing Ltd operation or its website; to be acting in violation of the stated Terms and Conditions; to be acting in a disruptive manner or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten, or harass any other person (including actions by you on our message boards) and void all associated entries and deny access to Paul Smith Publishing website.

    References to "we", "us" or "our" are references to Paul Smith Publishing Ltd.
