I believe home is where the heart is, and right now my heart belongs in New York, the city that never sleeps...which is ironic because I don't sleep (much) either.

I am originally from the mid-north region of South Australia. I moved around frequently in my late teens and early twenties, before finally moving to the top of Australia and settling in a northern suburb of Brisbane, Queensland.

Sunny one day, perfect the next! That's what the locals say anyway, and once I adapted to the humidity and heat, I had to agree with them. I firmly believed that no place, or no one, could ever lure me away from the laid back lifestyle, rolling mountain views from my front porch, or the sandy beaches just a stone's throw away.

So, when I met my Indian American husband, who lived in New York, I knew it would only be a matter of time before one of us would have to relocate, because, honestly...the commute was terrible!

After selling pretty much everything we owned, and with three kids and just 14 suitcases, we boarded the plane with one-way tickets to begin our new adventure in New York.

Several months later, I'd adjusted to driving on the opposite side of the road and car, learned that petrol is now gas, the boot is now a trunk, and scones are called biscuits. With all that sorted, and while waiting on my work permit, I reopened the file to a book I'd begun writing many moons ago... And here I am, just a few months shy of my first book launch, where Confessions of a Floor Walker will go from being nothing but a pipe dream to an incredible reality.
